In kind donations

We are grateful to our donors, and for the generosity that prompts them to share monetary and in kind gifts with others in our community.  As we are limited in our storage space and ability to process donated items, we can’t accept many in kind gifts, but please feel free to reach out and ask if anything is needed at this time.   If we can’t accept your donation, we will try to connect you to other organizations in the community that work with ICCS to ensure that our clients can get access to the items that they need, when they need them.

Perhaps the best way to support our programs is to give a one time or monthly monetary gift.  We do our best to ensure that every gift received is used effectively where it is most needed.

For more information, feel free to call our head office at 778-441-4227, ext. 114 to ask what current needs are.

Short term, immediate need:  Our program at Orca Place needs single bed sheets and duvets or comforters for client rooms.  Call (778) 441-4227, ext. 114 if you can help!

Thoughtful gifts to make people feel special are always appreciated.  Some ideas might include:

  • Gift cards for a coffee or a treat are a special way to remind clients that they are cared for, and to let them enjoy the simple pleasures we often take for granted.
  • Gardening is therapeutic for our clients, and brings beauty to program sites.  Many programs accept donations of seeds or annuals – flowers or vegetables.
  • Things for a cozy afternoon:  hot chocolate or tea, a book or magazine or a deck of playing cards can make someone feel special.
  • Outdoor essentials:  flashlights, umbrellas and even mylar/thermal blankets can be helpful.
  • Get creative!  if you have something you think might make someone’s day special, give us a call.
  • An on-going need for our larger programs and clients is the donation of bar soap, towels and shampoo, as well as toothpaste and toothbrushes.
  • We also regularly need  brand new pajamas for both men and women, and brand new underwear, all sizes, for clients who have arrived to our programs with nothing and need a good night’s sleep.  Let us know if you can help!
