Director of Development
Director of Development
Richard joined the Board of Directors in 1996 and served as Board Secretary until 2001 when he became Executive Secretary. He focused on administration, society documentation, communication, and the society’s database. In 2005 he began to focus on funding proposals and developing policies. He wrote successful proposals for The Living Room, Sophia House, and the Samaritan House Pilot Project and was commended for his writing by BC Housing Officers. As Director of Development he ensures that ICCS has the highest quality communication materials and systems, that data collection is accurate and helpful, and that new projects have the resource they need. Richard sees developing and maintaining relationships as central to the Development Department, and is an enthusiastic Captain in the annual Coldest Night of the Year walk. He is the author of two books with Adams Media and combines his love of media, social science, and helping people, to support the ICCS teams.
