Violet Hayes

Violet Hayes ICCS Nanaimo

Executive Director

Violet became our Executive Director in April of 2011. Her focus has been on building the society’s capacity, developing new programs, and increasing our visibility in the community. She comes to ICCS with many years of experience working in the social service field. She gained extensive knowledge and skill before joining ICCS chairing the personnel committee as director for the Trail and District Public Library, supervising soup kitchens, working with volunteers in Hospice, and setting up reception centers and working at the Command Centre to organize Emergency Social Services during forest fire emergencies. She gained valuable insights into coaching and guiding groups of dedicated people dealing with a variety of challenging situations. Violet is appreciated for her cheerful optimism, compassion, fairness, and her “keep calm and carry on” attitude. She represents ICCS as a member of the Community Advisory Board in Nanaimo and The Oceanside Task Force on Homelessness in Parksville. A passionate communicator, she is available to speak to groups interested in hearing more about ICCS and its programs.
