Through our decades of experiencing working with those in need, we know that recovery is not something that is typically achievable in just a few months. Many people need time to rebuild positive habits, healthy relationships and work on their mental and physical health once they have physically detoxed. This is where Supportive Recovery can play a vital role in someone’s journey. Residents of the David’s Place Recovery Program are provided stable housing, tasty nutritious food, mental health resources, tools that support greater resiliency and strength, and individualized support plans for up to 18 months under the supervision of our management team and Clinical Mental Health Specialist.
David’s Place operates under a Therapeutic Village model, where residents participate in a community that includes Support Workers, a Mental Health Support Worker, trained volunteers, and chaplains. The community extends beyond the program to includes support from ICCS donors and sponsors, as well as referring agencies, and teams at Island Health and other community organizations.
Recognizing that the cost for such vital programs typically presents a significant barrier for people to access services, space at the Recovery Program will be prioritized for those in most need of financial assistance.
We are thankful for funding secured through the CMHA Bed-Based Treatment & Recovery Grant and daily user fees provided by the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction.
At David’s Place, we are dedicated to ensuring that everyone in our community has access to the recovery support they need, regardless of their financial circumstances. Thanks to funding from the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction, residents receiving financial assistance can access our program at no additional cost.
For individuals who are working, retired, or otherwise ineligible for government assistance, we depend on the generosity of our community to make their stays possible. By donating directly to David’s Place you can help ensure that this vital service remains accessible to everyone who meets our program criteria but may face financial barriers.
Your donation has a direct and profound impact, enabling residents to access a safe and supportive environment where they can focus on recovery, wellness, and rebuilding their lives. Together, we can create opportunities for all our residents to thrive, regardless of their financial situations.

We could not provide this program without the participation of our community of volunteers, who participate in a variety of ways. We are looking for people who have interests in cooking, crafting, art, gardening just to name a few. If you feel that you would like to connect with clients and have a positive impact on their journey to living well, we would love to hear from you.
