There are several ways to get involved with the Island Crisis Care Society! We are always looking for new volunteers to help with everyday chores, sorting donations, and with all of our events.
Volunteers can get involved with the Coldest Night of the Year, Blue Bank Campaign, Streets for the Streets.
If you are interested in volunteering please contact firstname.lastname@example.org
Blue Bank Campaign
We would love your help getting churches, local business, and anyone else to participate in the Blue Bank Campaign. We also need help to deliver and pick-up of the Blue Banks.
Sweets for the Streets
Sweets for the Streets is a labour of love. We need several volunteers not only to help us during the evening, serve desserts, monitor silent auction, and help with the final transactions. We also need volunteers to help us sell tickets, and deliver donor letters. And we are always looking for a coordinator to organize and run the event!
Volunteer Support for the ICCS Team
If you are interested in supporting the ICCS team through acts of service such as food preparation, administrative tasks, and set up and clean-up for events such as our annual silent auction, or training sessions for workers, please contact us.
We are fortunate to receive donations from our community and due to this we are always looking for people to come help sort these donations and help determine what is usable. Please contact us if you are interested in helping in this way.
Volunteer Training Program
A six week volunteer training program is offered for those interested in volunteering in our programs. The next volunteer training will occur when we have sufficient interest. We are taking names for this course now. If you are interested in taking this course, a small fee of $25 covers the cost of the manuals. Please contact us for more information.
Volunteer opportunities to work directly with clients are limited at this time. In order to work directly with our clients, specialized training is required. If you have worked with vulnerable adults in the past, or if you have experience in the field of social services, there may be an opportunity to help without ICCS training. Please contact us to discuss how you might best work with ICCS. If you are a trained chaplain, pastor, barber, hair stylist, or member of a professional organization (Lawyer, Doctor, Dentist, Social Worker, Nurse, Therapist, etc.) please also contact us to discuss ways of assisting our clients on a voluntary basis.
